It is extracted from the rhizomes of Curcuma zedoaria Rosc. by steam distillation process. Nar Kachur oil is extracted from the rhizomes of Zedoary plant. It is a perennial plant with a warm and spicy aroma. The leaves of this plant are ovate and measure about 1 to 2 feet long.

Nar Kachur Oil benefits digestive systems & is used as gastrointestinal stimulant in flatulent colic. It also helps in preventing stress ulceration as well as in flavor and fragrance based usage applications.

History

Kachur, Curcuma zedoaria or white turmeric or zedoary is not very well known in the West. Apparently it was introduced into Europe by the Arabs in the 6th century and gained in popularity, if we are to believe manuscripts that were written prior to the 16th century.
